His focus lies in knee surgery and sports orthopaedics — from complex cruciate ligament and multiligament reconstruction through patellar stabilisation to modern cartilage and realignment surgery, complemented by joint-preserving therapy and artificial joint replacement. He previously led the orthopaedic surgery of the lower limb at the Rennbahnklinik Muttenz for many years; in 2008 he was awarded the Harold Vasey Prize for the best specialist examination in Switzerland.
